Description

Handles the Heat with Rich Blue Color

This late-blooming dwarf stays neat and tidy.

Like living fireworks, Asters burst with color in the midsummer garden. 'Peachie's Pick' Stokes Aster is a marvelous dwarf variety that grows approximately 12 inches high and only a little wider. In the stagnant heat of July and August, it is still in a profusion of blooms. 'Peachie's Pick' has daisy-style flowers in an attractive light periwinkle hue. They are ideal for edging perennial borders or summer pathways. These asters will even flourish in pots and containers on a porch or patio.

Another pleasant surprise with this cultivar is that the flowers will not droop in the midday sun. They stand up straight and greet all the garden visitors with their cozy blue faces. 'Peachie's Pick' Stokes Aster is pest and disease tolerant and will grow in most types of soil. They just need their bed to be well-drained so their roots do not get soggy. These asters adore full sun or part shade.

Very heat tolerant

I just planted these in the spring, they are about 10 inch tall now, and are covered with buds, I'm excited to see the blue flowers. I planted them on the north side of the house and they only get 6-8 hours of sun a day, shaded by trees until about noon. So far these are awesome, they never seem to wilt in the upper 90 humid heat we've had so far.

This plant lived up to it's billing. It started blooming in June and has been going strong with occasional deadheading (now 9/19). It stays in a nice compact mound
