Helleborus 'Romantic Getaway'

A hardy, evergreen perennial, 'Romantic Getaway' brings in spring with dramatic 3-inch single flowers with a red patterned center, white margin, and chartreuse stamens. The showy flowers attract bees and make stunning cut flowers for kitchen table bouquets and nosegays.

Best when massed or grouped, Lenten roses should be planted where they can naturalize and spread with an extensive root system. A moist woodland area is a perfect location. However, since they are drought and salt tolerant and deer and rabbit resistant, they are easily grown almost anywhere and even work well in patio containers. In mixed beds, carex, dicentra, ferns, heuchera, and pulmonaria are good companions.
