Description / Praying Hands Hosta Plant
Instead of opening outward from the top of their stems, these leaves point straight up, narrow and inturned. Dark green and deeply corrugated, the foliage sports a pencil-thin edge that accentuates the heavy rippling of the leaves. The vertical veining on each leaf also bears golden highlights, giving the foliage a corrugated look that is most attractive.
Reaching 14 inches high and about 18 inches wide, 'Praying Hands' is a stunning sight in the partly shaded garden or container. Midsummer blooms of lavender arise on long, slender stalks, but are insignificant enough to snip offthe foliage display is simply too impressive for distractions!
'Praying Hands' was introduced by Gerald Williams in 1996. It makes a fine companion to other Hosta cultivars, particularly those with wide, outspread leaves.
