All-America Rose Selections (AARS) Winner 1976
Rosa America is one of the best climbers ever grown for American gardens. This All-America Rose Selection winner from 1976, bred by Jackson & Perkins, continues to be a favorite across the country. But who can resist these 4- to 5-inch bloomssuffused with brilliant color and a strong, spicy scenton a vigorous climbing plant?
Rosa America, a climbing rose, quickly reaches 10 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, with lush, deep green foliage banking the bright blooms. Each flower on Rosa America climbing rose is fully double, sporting up to 30 petals of rich pink highlighted with coral, apricot, and salmon tones. The petal reverse is lighter, creating a nice two-tone look as the blossoms slowly open from pointed, ovoid buds. And the scent is magnificent, combining cloves with a sweeter, more fruity aroma.
Rosa America climbing rose was introduced by Bill Warriner, long-time rose breeder for our friends at Jackson & Perkins. It is a cross of R. Fragrant Cloud x Tradition. You will find Rosa America climbing rose dependable, long-lived, and eager to repeat its flower show all season long, with heaviest blooms in the cooler temperatures of spring and fall.
