A strong-growing plant, this small ground covering variety holds its black-purple color all season. And in mid-spring, Jazz Hands Mini sets fringy pink flowers that contrast beautifully with the dark foliage. Planting this dark-leafed loropetalum with chartreuse colored shrubs creates an unforgettable combo in the garden.

A Loropetalum chinense, commonly called Chinese fringe-flower, Jazz Hands Mini has a compact, mounded, spreading habit that's perfect for the front of the border or as a thriller in a container garden. It's a stunning specimen or focal point, especially in a small space garden, but it's shown to best effect when mass planted and is a great ground cover.

Easy to grow and low maintenance, this Chinese fringe-flower grows best in a sunny to partly sunny spot with moist, well-draining soil. A minimum of 4 hours of full sunshine a day will produce the best foliage color and flowering. Jazz Hands Mini is heat tolerant and deer resistant. Fertilize the plant in spring, and if desired, prune to shape after flowering. Using extra mulch around the base may be beneficial in cooler climates.
