Description / Syringa Bloomerang® Dark Purple
Abundant supply of deep purple, trumpet-shaped bloom clusters.
Dark Purple is part of the lilac Bloomerang® series and is a large shrub with rich, midnight-purple or light indigo blooms. These miniature, trumpet-shaped blossoms grow in an abundant supply of rounded clusters. This plant starts with dark purple buds that open into vivid, rich purple blooms. It starts flowering in spring and keeps on until fall's frost. This lovely lilac blooms the first year of planting and is a repeat bloomer, producing rounds of blossoms set among the medium green foliage. Each round of blooms lasts a long time. Additionally, Dark Purple smells delightful.
The Bloomerang® Dark Purple Syringa is a compact and tightly branched plant. It is fast growing and easy to care for. It reaches a height of 5 to 6 feet and a width of 4 to 5 feet. This plant thrives in full sunlight and moist, well-drained soil. It is deer resistant and makes an excellent hedge or border. It is also lovely as a cut flower, specimen or container plant.
