Description
Cloud 9, a flowering dogwood, has something to offer in every season. It profusely flowers in large pure white blooms in spring, attracting butterflies. Its dark green foliage of summer turns reddish purple in fall. And bright red berries appear against gray bark in winter, a welcome treat birds love.
This small deciduous tree has a slow growth rate, less than 12 inches a year, a short trunk with horizontally tiered branches, and a globe-shaped habit, ideal for small spaces and formal landscapes.
One of the most cold hardy varieties of the Cornus genus, Cloud 9 grows well in a wide variety of climatic zones and soil types, but it is very important the tree is watered adequately during dry periods in the summer and the soil is well drained, with no standing water.
