Trixi® Strawberry Shortcake Combination

Trixi® Strawberry Shortcake Combination

A festive mix of light and dark, large and small, upright and trailing! Velvety deep red Verbena Lascar™ Compact Burgundy offers a mini bouquet on every flowering stem, while tireless Calibrachoa MiniFamous® Light Pink dots the display with bright light from early summer until frost. The long, lush stems of Bacopa Big White Falls,™ studded with tiny blooms, backlight the entire combination. Long-lasting color for any sunny spot, even in punishing August temperatures!

The annuals in this combination are easy to grow, very long-blooming, and happy in full sun and lots of heat, even if humidity and a touch of drought come along with the sun. Differing flower sizes and plant forms add interest to the display, creating a red, white, and blue display that looks both patriotic and intensely colorful!

Verbena Lascar™ Compact Burgundy offers rounded bloom clusters of darkest red to purple, beginning in late spring and continuing through summer and well into fall in most areas. This is a compact, mounding plant 8 to 10 inches high and 12 to 18 inches wide, trailing from containers or mounding in the annual bed. Heat and humidity are its best friends, and it doesn't mind a bit of dry soil!

Calibrachoa MiniFamous® Light Pink is a two-tone flower, darker pink in the center and shading to nearly white at the eges. Borne by the hundred over a long season, these blooms are immune to punishing weather! The plant habit is semi-trailing, reaching 10 to 15 inches high (the center stays full, even at the end of the season) and up to 15 inches long. A nonstop performer!

And Bacopa Big Falls™ White is a supremely heat-tolerant plant with small white blooms, each starred with a yellow eye. Bacopa is often used as filler, but its masses of blooms do a good job of offering a gleaming white backdrop to the larger, darker blooms of the Calibrachoa and the Verbena. Nothing stops this vigorous plant, whih reaches 8 to 10 inches high and wide, with soft green foliage banking the very profuse blooms.

We have set one plant of each type into every 4-inch pot, so the Verbena, Calibrachoa, and Bacopa grow up and through one another, creating a "pre-mixed" combination of colors and forms you will love. You only need 1 pot per 6-inch flowerpot. Use 2 pots for an 8- to 10-inch pot or basket, and all 3 for a 12-inch or larger container.

When your plants arrive, remove the packing material promptly and take the plants outdoors, setting them in a shaded, protected area. Give them a long drink of water, so that the excess runs freely from the base of the pot, and then let them rest there for a day or two. This will help them acclimatize to your garden. Then they are ready to transplant into their permanent home! It's as simple as that. Enjoy! Pack of three 4-inch pots.
