Description / Walking on Sunshine Floribunda Rose

This Jackson & Perkins original, an All-American Rose Selections (AARS) winner in 2011, will have you whistling an upbeat tune as you stroll through your floral display. With its brilliant yellow flowers and sweet anise fragrance, Walking on Sunshine will keep you on top of a wave of joyfulness.

The brilliant yellow blooms, growing as large as 3 inches with soft apricot-mango petals that darken as they develop, provide a lovely contrast to the dark-green foliage throughout the season.

The various tones of the flowers create a dazzling blend of color, from light yellow to a glowing pastel that radiates warmth and sunshine. The low-maintenance, high-efficiency floribunda (No pruning!) begins vigorous blooming in clusters its first year, producing beautiful flowers on every branch throughout the season. Resistant to rust and mildew, Walking on Sunshine is a reliable dash of energy with a long growing season.

Recommended by rosarians for several areas throughout the country, including hot, humid climates, Walking on Sunshine excels as borders or in beds. The vigorous shrub grows up to 4 feet high and 3 feet wide and bushier with more branches throughout the season.

Though pruning is not necessary, prompt deadheading and late winter pruning help the shrub to grow bushier with fuller branches. The healthy foliage seems to infuse life into surrounding plants and flowers. Walking on Sunshine is an ideal first rose for beginners.

NOTE: Tree and patio roses are hardy to Zone 6 regardless of the rose variety grafted to their tops.
