Description / Weigela Wine & Roses®

Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit 2011

A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, Wine and Roses® is the most ornamental of all weigelas, offering 3 seasons of interest in the garden—from the beginning of spring until the colder days of fall. In spring, fresh, glossy, dark purple new leaves appear. In early summer, bright 1-inch rosy pink blooms spring forth, creating an outstanding contrast. In fall, the foliage takes on shades of burgundy.

Easy to grow, Wine and Roses weigela reaches about 4 to 5 feet high and a wide, growing best in full sun to partial shade locations with well-draining soil. This shrub is deer resistant and heat, cold, and drought tolerant.
