Japanese Haskap (fruiting honeysuckle) is a superfood that fruits freely every summer. These small oblong blue berries are packed with antioxidants and vitamins, far more per ounce than blueberries, pomegranates, or other berries and fruits. The deciduous shrub is easy to grow. And Sugar Pie™ is the smallest of all the Yezberry® family, so compact you can put it in a container on the deck!

Lonicera caerulea is very different from the massive, vining honeysuckles we all grew up with. This species is upright and densely mounded, just 3 to 4 feet high and wide. It blooms in early spring, with the familiar yellow tubular blooms that butterflies and bees adore. And the berries follow quickly, ripening for harvest by summer.

The flavor of Haskap (that's the branding name for the berry) combines blueberry and raspberry tones, with a hint of something floral. We love it, especially these ultra-sweet Sugar Pie™ berries! And you can expect big harvests every time, which is good because you will want to can, jam, and freeze these berries as well as eating them fresh off the plant.

Set Sugar Pie™ near another variety of Haskap, so they can cross-pollinate for bigger harvests. You'll love how easy this shrub is -- not to mention how delicious! Zones 3-7.
