After the first frost, the flower clusters of this plant transform into tan to caramel hues, complemented by the shedding and peeling of papery brown bark on mature plants that unveil glimpses of the cinnamon hue of stems and branches, creating a delightful textural element in the winter garden, particularly charming against a snowy backdrop.
