Paeonia 'Dublin' is a diminutive, late-blooming peony, growing to only 24 inches tallbred for patio pots and small-space gardens. Blooming heavily in late spring, 'Dublin' sets large, saucer-shaped flowers with white petals and a deep yellow heart that make lovely cut flowers. Borne on short, sturdy stems, the single flowers sit perched above a compact mound of glossy, deep green leaves that remain attractive all season and may color up in fall, taking on shades of purple, rusty orange, or gold.
A Paeonia lactiflora, commonly called peony or Chinese peony, 'Dublin' is a reliable and long-lived, cold-hardy, herbaceous perennial ideal for Zones 3-8. This peony grows quickly and features an upright, bushy habit that makes it a versatile choice for any garden. Whether used as a standout specimen or accent plant, 'Dublin' adds elegance to landscapes. It's well-suited for planting in 6- to 10-inch pots but can also thrive in garden settings.
Requiring minimal care, 'Dublin' peony grows best in sunny or partially shaded areas with airy, fertile, medium moist, and well-draining soil. In regions with hot summers, afternoon shade helps protect the plant, while shelter from strong winds ensures its health.
