Paeonia 'Pastel Splendor' is a compact Itoh peony that grows to a mature size of 30 to 36 inches tall with a wider spread. A midseason bloomer, known for its huge flowers, 'Pastel Splendor' sets unique blossoms containing two rows of five pale lavender petals each, which shade to cream toward the center and reveal ten dark purple flares and multiple carpels. Set against a backdrop of lush, refined, dark green leaves, the showy flowers are displayed on long, sturdy stems, which are perfect for cutting. The foliage adds texture and color to the garden throughout the summer and colors up in autumn, taking on shades of purple or gold.
