Description / Ranunculus Double Blooming Mix Buttercup Bulbs
Prolific and early bloomers, the Ranunculus varieties in the Double Blooming Mix grow 16 inches tall and set masses of brilliantly colored blooms in shades of gold, orange, red, and yellow. Multi-petaled, the elegant double blooms resemble peonies or roses but have sheer, papery petals. These showy flowers are perfect for casual bunch bouquets or more formal mixed arrangements.
Double Blooming Mix contains Ranunculus varieties, commonly called ranunculus or buttercups, that are hardy in Zones 8-10. In colder Zones, grow buttercups as annuals or lift bulbs to overwinter. Buttercups look their best when grown in groups or masses in gardens or containers and small pots.
Double Blooming Mix ranunculus are easy to grow in a sunny to partly sunny spot with medium moist, well-draining soil. Remove the faded flowers immediately but allow the foliage to die back naturally, removing only when fully wilted. Double Blooming Mix ranunculus are deer resistant.
Plant Double Blooming Mix buttercup bulbs (corms) in warm spring soil after all danger of frost has passed, placing them 4 inches apart and 3 inches deep, with claws pointing downward. Water-in to settle bulbs and feed with a well-balanced fertilizer. Soak the corms in lukewarm water overnight before planting.
