Ranunculus Double Yellow buttercups grow to approximately 16 inches tall and bloom for several weeks in early summer. Heavy bloomers, the plants set large, cup-shaped flowers that resemble peonies or roses, with multiple layers of papery bright yellow petals. The long-lasting flowers make dazzling, sunny summer bouquets or bright additions to mixed floral arrangements.
A Ranunculus asiaticus species, also known as buttercups or Persian buttercups, Double Yellow is hardy in Zones 8-10. In cooler Zones, buttercups can be grown as annuals or their bulbs lifted and overwintered indoors. Their full, vibrant blooms shine when planted in clusters or masses in gardens, containers, or small pots, making them a versatile choice for any landscape.
Double Yellow ranunculus grows effortlessly in sunny to partly sunny spots with medium moist, well-draining soil.
