Description / Thuja 'Whipcord'
This tough and appealing native evergreen is a great way to breathe life into dull winter landscapes. Tolerates clay soil and even Black Walnut! 'Whipcord' is a shrubby, slow-growing, dwarf that features rich green foliage which droops from branchlets rising upward from the center before arching gracefully downward. This small shrub typically grows as a flattened mound when young, but eventually forms over time a more rounded shrub to 4-5' tall and as wide. Glossy green foliage usually acquires bronze tones in winter. Use around foundations, rock gardens, and wherever you need a boost of green foliage and visual interest.
