Gardeners love this tree mainly because for how its handsome yet subtle green foliage gives way to startlingly brilliant shades of gold, amber, and scarlet in autumn. It's no wonder that it is known to have some of the most attractive fall foliage around!
This makes an excellent ornamental shade tree for your yard. It grows well almost anywhere, and prefers to be well-watered. Although it is slow growing, it will need plenty of room as it can reach heights of up to 50 feet. Zones 4-9.
