Description / Leucanthemum Realflor® 'Real Tiny Bubbles' Shasta Daisy
'Real Tiny Bubbles' Shasta Daisy is a perennial that freely flowers from early to midsummer and flowers again in fall if trimmed back after the summer bloom. Masses of bubbly blooms open from flattened golden yellow buds before maturing into fully rounded pure white flowers. Sitting atop strong, stiff stems, the 2 to 2½-inch blooms make unique, and oh so charming, cut flowers for summer bouquets or mixed floral arrangements.
A Leucanthemum x superbum, commonly called Shasta daisy, 'Real Tiny Bubbles' is a compact plant, growing approximately 16 inches tall and 14 inches wide, with small dark green leaves. Shasta daisies are classic cottage and cutting garden plants and a mainstay in the perennial border. They're also perfect in a pretty patio pot or mixed container garden.
Extremely easy to grow, Shasta daisies grow best in sunny locations, but partial shade is tolerated, especially in climates with hot, dry summers. The soil should be medium moist, well drained, and moderately fertile. Soil that is too rich will result in heavier vegetation than flowers. 'Real Tiny Bubbles' has improved disease resistance and is heat and drought resistant once established. Although Shasta daisies are low maintenance and robust, deadheading spent flowers promotes a heavier bloom, trimming back after the summer bloom will encourage new growth and a second fall bloom, and dividing clumps every 2 to 3 years helps maintain vigor.
