Description / Leucanthemum Realflor® 'Real Jewel' Shasta Daisy
Leucanthemum Realflor® 'Real Jewel' is a petite perennial plant that grows to about 16 inches tall and 14 inches wide. A floriferous early to midsummer bloomer with a repeat fall bloom, it sets bright sunny yellow flowers with 3 layers of fancy frilled rays surrounding a deep golden yellow center. Borne on very strong stems covered in small, elegant, mid-green leaves, the long-lasting blooms phase through warm cream tones as they age and attract pollinators to the garden, including butterflies. These pretty little flowers are perfect for picking.
A Leucanthemum superbum cultivar, commonly called Shasta daisy, 'Real Jewel' has a compact, mounded habit that needs no staking. Shasta daisy are old-fashioned favorites that fit beautifully in modern landscapes. Use in containers, patio pots, and perennial borders.
An easy-grow, easy-care plant, 'Real Jewel' Shasta daisy grows best in a sunny spot with average, dry to medium, freely draining soil. Stands up to high heat and humidity better than most. Fertilize in spring and trim back after summer bloom to encourage new growth and a repeat fall bloom.
