Description / Don Juan Climbing Rose
Introduced in the late 1950s, Don Juan Climbing Rose has been a worldwide favorite ever since, never failing to impress with its waves of rich red and sweetly fragranced flowers. And as stunning as Don Juan Climbing Rose is on the vine, it makes the perfect gift as cut flowers.
Don Juan Climbing Rose is a prodigious climber quickly growing to heights of up to 10 feet and widths of up to 5 feet, this classic cultivar features deep red double blooms enriched with 30 to 35 velvety petals. The vigorous canes and glossy dark green foliage complete the ideal composition for arbors or trellises.
Magnificent when filled with large, fragrant blooms in the summer, Don Juan Climbing Rose shows its most dynamic color in climates with warm nights. Great in high humidity, Don Juan Climbing Rose is also prolific in cooler, drier climates.

My treasure 0 people found this helpfulNow here's a winner. Vigorous, strong, tall, dark, and handsome. Keeps on giving large thickly petaled velvety cushions of dark red blooms on canes as long as I need that last longer than most as cut flowers.

don juan rose 0 people found this helpfulOur two little Don Juan roses arrived after a long trip across the continent looking rather sad, but they were still moist. After trimming off the dead leaves and planting them, we worried that they wouldn't make it, but we were rewarded with healthy new growth on multiple little stems in about 10 days. It is amazing to me that these little plants are so hardy and ready to grow. We can see that they are indeed on their way to being the large climber we want.
