Ornamental and Turf Grasses

Belonging to the grass family, "Fescue" are evergreen or herbaceous perennial closely related to Rye grass. Though some are used for feeding livestock, many species are deployed on golf courses as low maintenance groundcover off the fairways.

Fescue can grow from 4 inches in 7 feet in height, depending on species. Vigorous, it grows well on bare ground and is effective in controlling soil erosion. It should be avoided by persons easily susceptible to hay fever.
