The USDA hardiness zones offer a guide to varieties that will grow well in certain climates. Each zone corresponds to the minimum winter temperatures experienced in a given area. Make sure that your hardiness zone lies within the zone compatibility range of this variety before ordering.

Vegas Nights puts on a showy late winter display with its masses of mysterious blooms stained dark purple to slate gray, appearing nearly black with age, depending on moisture and temperatures. Borne on strong stems of dark evergreen foliage, the 3-inch single flowers make stunning bouquets, especially when combined with other colorful varieties of hellebore.

This perennial is salt and drought tolerant and quite easy to grow but typically performs best in moist soil and full sun in winter and dappled sunlight in summer, planted under a deciduous tree is perfect. It will slowly spread and create an attractive year-round ground cover when planted in mass.

Hybridized by Hans Hansen.
