The USDA hardiness zones offer a guide to varieties that will grow well
in certain climates. Each zone corresponds to the minimum winter temperatures
experienced in a given area. Make sure that your hardiness zone lies within
the zone compatibility range of this variety before ordering.
This flowering sand cherry is a must for mass planting. It has a spreading habit, but unlike most groundcovers, its branches arch upwards off the ground. It not only covers its branches in beautiful blueish green foliage that shades yellow, orange, and red in autumn, but it also produces small white flowers in spring that attract bees and butterflies and yummy black cherries in late summer. The shrub is very drought tolerant once established.
