Description / Capistrano Rhododendron

Rhododendron Capistrano is destined to become a classic. Frilly, rich lemon-yellow flowers are freely produced midseason in large, rounded trusses. Dark green leaves are somewhat rounded at the apex.

The late Dr. David Leach, a pioneer in the development of hardy Rhododendrons for American gardens, considered this to be his best yellow. Plant it in your garden and we're sure you'll think so too! This exquisite yellow was awarded Rhododendron of the year honors by the American Rhododendron Society in 2005.

Growth habit of 'Capistrano' is compact and spreading, reaching 4 to 5 feet tall and 5 to 6 feet wide at maturity. This plant has a very disease-and pest-resistant constitution. Zones 5-8. Cannot ship to WA.
