Garlic is a great way to use natural, organic ingredients to keep farms, backyard gardens, and lawns healthy and pest free. Garlic Barrier is a very strong liquid "super garlic" extract that is much more potent than grocery-store garlic, and it's listed by OMRI as suitable for organic farming.

Garlic Barrier is not an insecticide but is a non-toxic control that is best used to prevent an infestation before it starts. Garlic contains organic sulfur-containing compounds (primarily allicin) that give it a pungent odor and taste, which are natural deterrents for insects, pests, and animals. Garlic Barrier repels almost every kind of plant pest, including aphids, ants, armyworms, beetles, borers, caterpillars, flies, grubs, mites, moths, whiteflies, and more. Garlic can also help deter deer, rabbits, mice, and even armadillos and iguanas; and it discourages birds from eating fruit and berry crops by masking the odor of ripening fruit. It is perfectly safe to use on all your plants, including flowers, ornamentals, edibles, herbs, and vegetables. Although the garlic effect remains for weeks, Garlic Barrier leaves no garlic taste, and the garlic smell disappears within minutes, even on houseplants.

To use, dilute Garlic Barrier Concentrate quarts at a 10:1 ratio, maintaining a 5.5 to 6.0 pH. One quart should cover about 15,000 square feet. Before insects arrive, spray garden plants and lawn in the early morning, drenching the soil also, and repeat every week or two throughout the season. Garlic Barrier can also be used before planting or as a transplant drench on top of the seed as it is planted to repel nematodes and other underground creatures. When used as directed, Garlic Barrier is completely safe for people, pets, animals, ground water, and fish.
