Description / Juniperus Tortuga® Juniper
A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, Juniperus Tortuga® Juniper is an evergreen ground cover offering year-round interest. Even tougher than the average selection of native Juniperus communis, Tortuga naturally grows as a neat, low mound of fluffy, jade green foliage and is perfect for the most difficult locations.
Extremely cold hardy and easy to grow, this juniper grows best in sunny to partly sunny locations with average, medium moist, well-draining soil but tolerates a wide variety of soils, including poor, dry, sandy, or rocky soils, but is intolerant of wet soil and hot, humid climates. Tortuga juniper is also salt, limestone, black walnut tolerant and deer, mountain goat, polar vortexes, and ground hog resistant. Prune to shape or control spread as needed.
