Description

A First Editions® variety, Magnolia 'Centennial Blush' is a flowering deciduous tree offering 3 seasons of interest. A prolific bloomer in spring, 'Centennial Blush' is one of the heaviest flowering magnolia varieties. It forms flower buds at almost every node, and the pretty pink buds unfurl into starry, heavily petaled blush pink blooms. The highly fragrant flowers nearly cover the entire plant. The medium-green foliage of spring and summer is attractive enough, but in fall, it takes on beautiful shades of yellow and bronze.

A Magnolia stellata, commonly called star magnolia, 'Centennial Blush' has a medium to fast growth rate and can be grown as a large oval to rounded shrub or trained to grow as a small tree with a spreading, rounded crown. Its small stature is perfect for urban gardens. Plant as a single specimen or group in a foundation planting, hedge, or privacy screen.

An easy-care plant, Magnolia 'Centennial Blush' grows best in sunny locations with moist, organically rich, well-drained loams.
