Description
Narcissus Citrus Splash Mix is a gorgeous blend of some of the fanciest and most colorful daffodils we knownot to mention the most fragrant. Arising at various times in spring, this is a mix to bring you a long, lovely season of irresistible color.
Red-cupped, butter-and-sugar bicolors, and large trumpets are all features of this Narcissus Citrus Splash Mix, which is composed of premier, large-size Dutch bulbs. These narcissus are ready to establish in your garden and colonize over time, creating great drifts of color in full sun to part shade. Cast them across a meadow, along the driveway, down a slope, or among the perennials and shrubs in your borders and beds. Wherever the soil is well-drained and receives at least half a day of sunshine or dappled light, Narcissus Citrus Splash Mix will thrive.
Because one of the features of Narcissus Citrus Splash Mix is variety, the daffodils in this collection bloom at varying times and reach various heights. Expect them, in general, to be about 12 to 16 inches high, 6 to 8 inches wide (although they can be planted much closer together, especially in containers), and to flower in early to mid-spring, depending on your climate. Most are bicolors, and all are sweetly fragrant. There's just no way to lose with this fabulous blend.
Perennial in hardiness zones 3 through 8, daffodils are very resistant to pests (including deer, rabbits, voles, and other nibblersthe bulbs are poisonous, and animals know it) and diseases. They need no attention beyond a good deep planting in well-drained soil. After flowering, let the stems remain in the garden until they turn brown and fall over (this will take several weeks). During this post-flowering period, the bulb is actually storing all the nutrients it needs for another season of beauty. You may want to interplant your daffodils with daylilies, irises, or other perennials to offer another season of color following the early spring triumph of the daffodils.
Narcissus Citrus Splash Mix is the ideal way to create an unforgettable daffodil display in your landscape over the long term. The planting you make this falleven of just 20 bulbswill repay you richly in years to come. Daffodils are left alone by deer and other nibbling creatures, and generally very disease-free. And no plant is easier. Add this low maintenance display to the garden this season.
