Neptune's Harvest Organic Crab & Lobster Shell is an all-natural, organic plant food, containing calcium (17%), magnesium (1%), and nutrients plants need. This dry 5-3-0 slow-release formula works as a supplement to your overall fertilization program, benefitting flowers, vegetables, lawns, & turf.

Crab & Lobster Shell not only improves moisture retention and organic matter buildup in the soil but also aerates the soil, giving roots room to move and grow. Mixed deep in soil or potting soil before planting, the nutrient-rich shell chunks give roots a food source to reach for, so roots grow deeper and produce stronger plants with higher yields. The calcium in crab and lobster shells helps plants absorb nutrients, discourages weed growth, and helps prevent blossom end rot, powdery mildew, and black spot.

Crab and lobster shells are also high in chitin, an eco-friendly, natural biopesticide that encourages chitin eating bacteria to thrive in the soil, creating a hostile environment for chitin-based insects, such as grubs, ants, nematodes, and fungus.
