One of the best for flowering of the David Austin® English roses, the Roald Dahl rose is awash in heavily rouged orange-red buds and cupped, 55-petaled, perfectly apricot rosettes scented of fruity floral tea. The flowers are lovely in a vase or in a mixed floral arrangement.
Highly disease-resistant, this extremely healthy, bushy shrub is a strong repeat bloomer with few thorns. The plant is very versatile and can be grouped in a rose hedge, rose border, or mixed border. It also works well in pots and containers.
Named to mark the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth, with the approval of his wife, Liccy Dahl—the coloring reminiscent of the eponymous peach in James and the Giant Peach.
