Description
Continuous blooms offer shades of ruby-red grapefruit, summer sunsets, and fancy tropical drinks. From midsummer to late fall, they cover the tidy mound of healthy, glossy, dark green foliage that's quite attractive in its own right. 'Mango Salsa' is perfect for mixed borders and beds and is small enough to plant near walkways and in other tight spots. It makes a beautiful container plant as well.
Perhaps the most exciting trait of the Oso Easy® Rose series is its wonderful disease resistance, and 'Mango Salsa' is no exception, reportedly showing excellent resistance to black spot and mildew, remaining clean without spraying. When planting these easy-to-grow shrubs, place them in moist, well-drained soil in full sun and space them 3 to 4 feet apart, so they can grow to their 2- to 3-foot height and width, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds to their beautiful long-blooming flowers.
'Mango Salsa' doesn't need pruning like traditional rosesit will rebloom without deadheading, but if desired, it may be pruned to shape in the spring. Apply a controlled release fertilizer in early spring.
