Description / Strike It Rich® Grandiflora Rose

This is a magnificent 2007 All-American Rose Selections-winning grandiflora that sports large clusters of extra-long, elegantly pointed, ovoid buds that combine rose, pink, and gold tones on red stems. The buds open to fully double, 5-inch blooms (each comprised of 30 petals) of rich golden-yellow with orange-pink highlights and a strong citrusy clove scent. Long-lasting and perfectly formed, you'll definitely feel like you've hit the jackpot when this gorgeous rose starts to bloom.

Strike it Rich has a bushy, well-branched, and naturally disease-resistant habit, reaching a mature size of 5 to 6 feet high and 2 to 3 feet wide, creating an impressive display in the sunny garden. The glossy, dark green foliage keeps it looking nice even when it isn't adorned with its brightly colored blooms. And the flowers it sets are abundant, arriving in flushes over a long season.

Plant this grandiflora rose in well-drained soil in full sun. Spring pruning is recommended. Old and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross need to be cut back. Gardeners in warmer climates should cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while those in colder areas will probably want to prune a little more than that.
