Description / Thuja ANNA'S MAGIC BALL®

A dwarf thuja variety, Thuja ANNA'S MAGIC BALL® is an evergreen shrub offering year-round interest. Highly versatile, the plant grows as a small, dense, and bushy ball of bright chartreuse foliage that is aromatic and cedar-like. This little cutie maintains its color during winter and requires little shaping to keep its natural spherical form.

Thuja ANNA'S MAGIC BALL® has a compact, upright habit; a mounded, rounded, well-behaved form; and a slow to moderate growth rate that works especially well as a specimen in small spaces and planters. It makes a great thriller (focal point) in a container garden, but it is shown to best effect when massed or grouped in beds and borders.

Easy to grow and maintain, Thuja ANNA'S MAGIC BALL® prefers full to part sun and deep, moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates some shade and a wide range of soils but is intolerant of dry conditions and should be watered regularly in extreme heat. Although little to no pruning is required, any desired pruning should be done in early summer.

A native plant, Thuja ANNA'S MAGIC BALL® is indigenous to North America. Native plants are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly. Naturally adapted to the climate and soil conditions of the region, they thrive without fertilizers or extra watering, once established. They also act as natural pest controls, reducing the need for pesticides in the garden. Landscaping with native plants promotes biodiversity and provides shelter and quality food for wildlife and pollinators, bringing gardens to life.
