Edgeworthia

Delightful color and fragrance for the winter garden

Edgeworthia (Paper bush) is known for its beautiful winter show, but it's very attractive at other times of the year as well. Spring brings large, slender leaves of blue-green, often with a silvery overlay. The foliage remains lush and green through summer, then turns a soft yellow for fall before dropping. Related to Daphne, it's long-lived and very low maintenance. The blooms of Edgeworthia, however, are its crowning feature -- dangling clusters of very fragrant flowers in shades of yellow or red that usually appear in late winter to early spring.
